Dr. Gonzague Jourdain
Biography
Dr. Gonzague Jourdain is a clinical epidemiologist who was trained as an MD and earned a Ph.D. in Epidemiology in France. After he worked for the Harvard School of Public Health until 2006, he joined the French National Research Institute for Sustainable Development. He is currently a senior scientist at Thailand-France Research Collaboration, Faculty of Associated Medical Sciences, Chiang Mai University, Thailand. He has co-authored more than 170 papers in international peer-reviewed journals, especially on the perinatal transmission of HIV and HBV. His current research is to design and assess simplified clinical strategies to prevent mother-to-child transmission of hepatitis B virus, and horizontal transmission of HIV in key populations in Thailand and Lao PDR.
